The Violin - Guitar Duo is undoubtedly the chamber group which offers the best timbre charm and there are numerous examples in the nineteenth and twentieth century literature. Marco Corsini and Carlo Mascilli Migliorini have been playing together since 1990, taking part to musical performances for institutional concerts of national importance. Their repertoire is wide and ranges from the nineteenth century pieces by Paganini, Giuliani and Molino, to the different expressions of modern and contemporary music by Ibert,Prosperi and Piazzolla. Recently the Duo have recorded a CD for MAP of Milan, including the musical anthology dedicated to Francesco Molino.
CARLO MASCILLI MIGLIORINI obtained his guitar degree with Alvaro Company. He attended the courses at the Music Academy of Pescara and at the Accademia Chigiana of Siena with the same Maestro. He then specialised with Alirio Diaz and Leo Brower.
At the moment he plays in concerts as a solo player as well as in chamber groups, meeting the complete successful approval of the public and the critics. He won several awards in national and international musical competitions, such as the ones in Stresa, Florence, Pescara and Genoa; he has impressive results in his recordings with the Foné, Lira Classica, Cristophorus, and Koch Studios.
Moreover, as a musicologist, he publishes revisions for the Bérben and Ottocento editors and as a music critic, he works with the editorial staff of the Strumenti e Musica magazine.
He teaches guitar at the G.Verdi City Music School in Prato and he taught as a specialised teacher in courses for the Tuscany guitar centre and the Villa Doc and Music Garden associations.
MARCO CORSINI obtained his degree at the Luigi Cherubini Conservatoire under maestro Edoardo Perpich. He continued his Violin studies with Felix Ayo and Cristiano Rossi, and specialised with Hayo Bass in Baroque Violin and with Giuseppe Garbarino in Chamber Music.
He has collaborated with the Chamber orchestra of Padova and of Veneto, the Bellini Theatre Orchestra, Catania, the Giglio Theatre Orchestra, Lucca, the Florentine Chamber Orchestra, the Akronos Orchestra, Prato. He has also played with Modo Antiquo and Homme Armé baroque groups in Florence and for the Ensemble Hémiole, Lausanne. He recorded for Tactus with the Li Stromenti Ensemble, Florence, playing music by G.Giacobbi and seventeenth century Florentine composers. Moreover, he is currently Principal with Florence Symphonietta Orchestra.
He is a member of many chamber music groups, and has played his Violin in over two hundred concerts in the most important Italian cities, as well as Switzerland and Germany, playing at regularly sold out concert halls.
He is Violin teacher at the Silvio Pellico Secondary School, La Spezia. He taught Chamber Music at the International Summer School held at the Elba Island (Portoferraio1993 - Marina di Campo 1997).
